Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Financial Controller at the Newhaven Energy Recovery Facility, you will take on a diverse role that includes:
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts, forecasts, and budgets for all operational activities within the Veolia South Downs contract.
  • Producing monthly management accounts with thorough analysis and investigation of results and variances for various operational units.
  • Managing a team of two Finance Assistants, including their training, objective setting, and performance reviews.
  • Collaborating closely with operational managers to enhance growth and business performance, with support from the Financial Controller.
  • Conducting regular site visits to ensure accurate financial reporting and support operations.
  • Preparing annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Assisting the Financial Controller with group reporting and the annual audit process.
  • Completing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Ensuring effective cash flow forecasting.
  • Analyzing capital expenditures and preparing business cases.
  • Participating in stock audits, monthly reporting, and depreciation.
  • Acting as a deputy for the Financial Controller when necessary.
  • Engaging in any ad hoc project work required to support business objectives.
Qualifications:
  • Qualified or part-qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
  • Proficient in spreadsheet applications, with a preference for Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel
  • Familiarity with Workday is a plus
  • Previous experience in line management is advantageous
