We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teacher/Tutor to join our team in a SEND Provision in Nottinghamshire. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in empowering children with special educational needs to reach their full potential.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching and experience working with children with SEND. You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons, supporting children with their work, and managing challenging behaviors. Your excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues will be essential in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Teaching multiple subjects within a SEND school setting
  • Planning and delivering lessons and activities for whole class learning and group learning
  • Supporting children with SEND in a class setting
  • Managing challenging behaviors and implementing the school's behavior policy
  • Safeguarding vulnerable pupils
  • Supervising pupils during lunch and break times
  • Supporting and managing teaching assistants within the classroom
  • Building relationships with staff and pupils
  • Collecting evidence of pupils' work to support their assessments
  • Providing feedback to relevant staff members on pupils' progress
  • Pastoral responsibility for a group of pupils
  • Potentially leading in a subject area
