Role Overview

We are in search of a skilled Cloud Solutions Architect specializing in Azure Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS) and Platform as a Service (PAAS) to join our Information and Digital Group (IDG) Cloud and Server team. Your primary focus will be to ensure the effective, secure, and economical management of our Cloud infrastructure utilizing Microsoft Azure.

In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of the Azure environment, which includes tasks such as resource allocation, performance enhancement, security setup, and resolving technical challenges.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in managing and supporting Azure cloud environments.

A customer-centric approach to problem resolution is essential, along with the capability to diagnose intricate issues and deliver practical solutions.

You should also have a track record of fostering continuous improvement within an Agile product management framework.

Experience in a comparable position within a large-scale enterprise is required, along with familiarity with infrastructure automation tools, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring solutions. You will be expected to automate operational components of the infrastructure and systems lifecycle using tools such as PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, Azure DevOps CI/CD, and Kubernetes.

Strong stakeholder management abilities are crucial, as is the capacity to mentor and guide less experienced team members.

As part of IDG, the Infrastructure and Operations (I&O) team is dedicated to delivering reliable, high-performing, and efficient technology and services that support the University's strategic objectives for teaching, research, and administration. This includes the development and maintenance of IT systems, networks, and hardware to ensure they meet performance standards and provide high availability.

I&O also formulates and implements IT infrastructure and operations strategies that align with institutional goals and industry best practices. They oversee the University's IT infrastructure, ensuring secure and efficient operations while managing relationships with third-party vendors and service providers to meet established agreements.
