We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team at Liberty Steel Group. As a Mechanical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our plant and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned and unplanned maintenance activities on all aspects of plant and equipment on site.
  • Report to the Team Leader Engineering on all matters regarding the maintenance and operation of all plant and equipment.
  • Assist in developing maintenance practices and procedures to improve and maintain the plant and equipment.
  • Ensure all legalisation relating to all systems is met and records kept.
  • Provide continuity of cover on site in the event of sickness & holiday.
Requirements
  • A recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship (Preferably HNC but minimum ONC level or equivalent).
  • Sound plant engineering knowledge and experience of industrial systems such as: Hydraulic systems Pumps, drives and gearboxes Heavy machinery Water cooling systems Material handling systems Dust extraction systems Vacuum Systems
  • Self-starting driven individual capable of leading a small team
  • Ability to work with cross functional groups
