Process Improvement Manager

EnerSys Delaware Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Operations Excellence Specialist to support the company's transformation efforts. This role will focus on implementing and supporting actions that bring about improvements to operations and processes, including safety, quality, delivery, growth, margin expansion, and inventory levels.
Key Responsibilities- Execute against long and short-term objectives to support business goals;
- Collaborate with other departments to identify, address, and eliminate process-related obstacles;
- Assist in changing systems and processes as required to support transformation initiatives;
- Utilize mapping techniques to understand optimal information, material, and production flow methods;
- Lead and participate in Rapid Improvement Events (RIE) to drive process improvements;
- Act as a change agent to bring about improvements in process through actively leading, supporting, and participating in RIEs, including:
- Supporting pre and post standard work;
- Leading and participating in projects/events;
- Leading and participating in MDI Gemba walks and coaching employees on continuous improvement, standard work developments/modification/adherence, flow, and problem-solving techniques;
- Providing necessary training specific to lean transformation tools and methodology under the guidance of the EOS Manager.
- Assist in updating and maintaining visual performance tools, MDI, and Accountability boards;
- Support cycle time analysis, time studies, work balance/flow improvements, workplace analysis, and improvement;
- Support problem-solving, root cause identification, and preventative fix;
- Help develop more efficient ways to utilize people, machinery, materials, information, and energy to make a product or service.
- Demonstrated deployment of lean tools and methodology, including 5S and problem-solving;
- Ability to lead and direct an improvement team, particularly at the shopfloor level;
- Must be a results-oriented 'change agent';
- Demonstrate problem-solving, project management, A3 thinking, quality, and basic financial principles and apply them to analyze planned activities;
- Flexible and adaptable to meet the requirements of the role;
- Able to present and respond to questions from individuals at all levels of the organization;
- Able to mentor team members and facilitate change from a position of influencer;
- Able to energize and motivate a team;
- Able to recognize conflict and take appropriate action within the scope of the role;
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written;
- Computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, with the capability to create spreadsheets for analysis and tracking of data-based metrics);
- Understanding of manufacturing principles and practices;
- Minimum of 24 months of manufacturing process experience;
- Certified lean belt program or equivalent experience.
