About the Role

The focus of this position is to maintain the productive status of the rewinder, converting line, and packaging line, ensuring efficient operation with minimum wastage in accordance with customer specifications and the paper machine output.

This must be achieved while maintaining a high standard of housekeeping and working in accordance with all health and safety procedures and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate the re-winder to a high standard of safety and good housekeeping.
  • Understand the entire re-Winding process, including the loading and unloading of reels.
  • Test each reel manufactured off the re-winder, recording, analysing, and making any necessary adjustments to ensure the product meets the required specification.
  • Stop and start the re-winder safely and efficiently.
  • Operate, assist, monitor, or direct the converting and packaging line in the event of any issues.
  • Safely wrap, unwrap, weigh, stack, move, load, and unload heavy goods vehicles using a forklift truck.
Requirements
  • Forklift truck experience is desirable.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Able to commute within 1 hour of Lancaster.
  • Experience in a factory or manufacturing environment.
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in maths, English, and IT.
  • Basic IT skills and experience with Microsoft Office.
