An exciting opportunity has emerged for a dedicated and proactive clinical imaging specialist to become a part of our dynamic team, contributing to a comprehensive medical imaging and illustration service for our organization and external partners.

This role is intended as a 12-month maternity cover position, with no assurance of continued employment thereafter. If applicable, a secondment may be considered based on service requirements and managerial approval for release.
Key Responsibilities
Primary duties include:
- Support the delivery of medical imaging and illustrative services across the organization.
- Collaborate with team members to provide efficient, professional, and skilled technical services.
- Conduct medical and medico-legal photography in both studio settings and clinical environments, ensuring high standards are met and conditions are accurately represented with appropriate lighting techniques for medical and legal purposes.
- Assist in the digital video services for the organization, including production and editing tasks.
- Deliver high-quality patient information design and illustration services.
- Engage in public relations photography as required.
- Prepare educational and publication materials and illustrations using both PC and MAC platforms.
- Comply with all departmental and organizational policies.
- Maintain professional registration and credentials.
- Utilize Adobe Creative Cloud and other relevant software applications for design and photographic tasks.
About Our Organization
The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust serves the West Cheshire area and Welsh patients under the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. We work collaboratively within the broader Cheshire and Merseyside Health and Care Partnership, providing services from multiple locations.
- The Countess of Chester Hospital: offering 438 general and acute beds.
- Ellesmere Port Hospital: featuring 56 beds for rehabilitation, intermediate, and outpatient care.
- Tarporley War Memorial Hospital: serving as a base for community services catering to the local rural population.
Our Trust employs over 6,258 staff members, including temporary bank staff, and provides a range of acute emergency and elective services, as well as primary care direct access services and obstetric care to a population of approximately 407,000.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- BSc in Medical Illustration or a related science degree, with a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a medical photographer. State registration with ACHS is required.
Desirable
- Qualification in photography or media (BA Hons / HND) and membership in IMI.
Skills
Essential
- High level of computer literacy, including proficiency in DTP, photo manipulation, and graphics software such as Adobe Creative Cloud on PC and/or MAC.
- Ability to operate a wide range of medical photography equipment.
- Extensive knowledge of photography principles.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team, including motivating junior staff and working independently.
