About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Reliability Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform proactive and preventative maintenance tasks on a wide range of equipment and facilities
  • Carry out reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse environment
  • Utilize advanced tools and technologies to maximize equipment effectiveness and efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety policies and practices
  • Support the development and progression of on-site apprentices and junior engineers
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects and the implementation of best practices across multiple sites
A Day in the Life

As a Reliability Maintenance Engineer, you will be based on-site, allowing you to respond quickly to any equipment issues that may arise. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include performing a range of planned preventative maintenance tasks to ensure our equipment is operating safely and efficiently.

You will also be responsible for responding promptly to breakdowns, investigating the root cause, and implementing solutions to minimize downtime. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to suggest long-term improvements to our maintenance processes and procedures.

About the Team

Our RME team is a technically-minded group of individuals who are passionate about maintaining and improving the reliability of our equipment and facilities. We work closely together to troubleshoot and repair equipment, and we are guided by experienced leaders who are committed to excellence.

We are a dynamic and fast-paced team that is responsible for maintaining and improving the technical aspects of our operations. This includes installing and maintaining automated packaging systems, overseeing the general maintenance of our sites, and repairing critical distribution equipment.

We are committed to reducing downtime and ensuring that our customers receive their orders on time. To achieve this, we work closely with our colleagues across the organization to identify and implement process improvements and to develop and introduce new technologies and innovations.

Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 (or international equivalent) in an engineering discipline or another practical engineering qualification
  • Relevant experience as a qualified engineer, preferably in a maintenance or technical support role
  • Relevant experience working in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance
  • Advanced proficiency in the local language verbally and in writing
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in condition-based monitoring
  • Experience working with print and apply machines
  • Experience in fault-finding and maintaining conveyor or automation systems
