We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our Engineering Team at Kerry's food crumbing and coating production facility in Gainsborough. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing Predictive Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on assets to maximize plant availability and maintain production.

This is a permanent, full-time position operating on a 4-on, 4-off shift basis.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Complying with health and safety policies and regulations.
  • Carrying out risk assessments and implementing controls to minimize risks.
  • Locking off dangerous machinery and repairing or notifying as necessary.
  • Resolving breakdowns, performing PMs, and working on project/improvement works to minimize production downtime.
  • Actively seeking to undertake PMs on offline machinery where time allows.
  • Completing PM sheets with observations, jobs completed, and recommendations, and filing with the Maintenance Planner.
  • Actively gaining information from production personnel to speed up fault-finding processes.
  • Ensuring engineering logs and computer systems are up-to-date with relevant information.
  • Communicating with external persons in a professional manner.

Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, we are looking for the right behaviors and competencies, as well as a proven track record in a similar position. The ideal candidate will have:

  • HNC, City & Guilds, or time-served apprentice with appropriate engineering qualifications.
  • Experience in a similar role, ideally in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Electrically biased or multi-skilled.
  • Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems experience highly desirable.
  • Flexible approach with a positive 'can-do' attitude.
  • Experience of SAP highly desirable.
