Job Title: Laboratory Manager/Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Manager/Coordinator to join our team at Yourgene Health, a leading provider of DNA technology solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day running of our research and development laboratories, ensuring the smooth operation of our product development teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate laboratory areas and key processes to ensure efficient and effective operation
  • Work collaboratively with scientists to create and implement processes to maintain/improve laboratory productivity
  • Review and improve existing laboratory processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Liaise with R&D scientists to ensure laboratory areas are maintained to a high standard
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs, and ensure effective waste disposal processes
  • Work with Quality Assurance to review and maintain internal equipment/asset database
  • Manage reagent and consumable inventory, and procure necessary supplies
  • Create, maintain, and improve laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Requirements:
  • Degree or further degree in a life science, such as molecular biology, biochemistry, or genetics
  • Typically 5+ years of relevant experience working in an ISO accredited laboratory, with experience of laboratory management preferred
  • Knowledge of laboratory health and safety procedures, and experience preparing COSHH forms and process risk assessments
  • Ability to review and analyze data, and work collaboratively with other scientists
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office suite
