The selected individual will be tasked with the upkeep, repair, and installation of custom-engineered mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with rigorous performance benchmarks and industry standards.

Your role will involve maintaining exceptionally high standards to guarantee that these systems operate reliably and safely within critical industrial environments.


PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct maintenance, repairs, and installations (to precise specifications) of custom-engineered mechanical systems.
  • Assemble and test products in strict adherence to all specifications.
  • Actively participate in the audit process, ensuring consistent preparedness for inspections.
  • Supervise the completion of spare parts requiring pre-assembly and testing, facilitating their progression to the appropriate technician.
  • Accurately document testing data and adhere to necessary recording protocols.
  • Perform thorough checks on all available components, addressing and resolving any shortages, and ensuring effective communication within the organization.
  • Provide timely updates to the Senior Technician and Operations Leaders.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • Ideally qualified to BTech ONC level and/or completed an apprenticeship in mechanical engineering / mechanical fitting or a multi-skilled engineering discipline.
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing or similar engineering environment.
  • Familiarity with working to fine/tight tolerances is advantageous.
  • Experience in the installation and fitting of industrial seals is a plus.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics would be beneficial.
  • Experience with exotic alloys is a plus.
  • Competence in operating overhead cranes and performing slinging/lifting operations is helpful.
  • Holding an FLT license or working towards one is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office or a willingness to learn is essential.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, work effectively under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Capability to prepare and present information in a professional manner.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (able to communicate effectively within the team and across departments).
  • Attention to detail when inspecting completed products for accuracy and quality.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • A UK Passport and Full UK driving license are required.

  • Typically, after 12 to 18 months of employment, candidates will engage in onsite installation work, which may involve travel. This travel could be national or international, occurring once or twice a year. All travel expenses will be covered, and you will receive compensation at a premium rate.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE:

Base Salary:
Approximately £33,000 to £36,000 (Senior Role) PA (Day Shift) + Overtime (premium rate) + Competitive Benefits

Working Hours:
Average of 37 Hours per week over two weeks (Hours of work: Monday to Thursday (Friday))
