Job Summary

ZipRecruiter is seeking an experienced Electrical and Controls Engineer to join our team as an EC&I Maintenance Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and maintenance activities of all EC&I assets across the plant to ensure maximum plant availability and minimum downtime.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Supervise and Maintain EC&I Assets: Lead and supervise the EC&I Team comprising of 2 Technicians and 1 apprentice, ensuring the day-to-day supervision and maintenance activities of all EC&I assets are carried out efficiently.
  2. Hands-on Maintenance and Repair: Perform hands-on fault finding, repair work, and planned and unplanned maintenance on all electrical and C&I assets to maximise plant availability.
  3. Collaborate with the Engineering Team: Collaborate with Technicians and the Engineering Manager to ensure an accurate daily schedule is produced and adhered to.
  4. Plant Improvement Projects: Work with the site engineering team on plant improvement projects and upgrades.
  5. Site Outages and Shutdowns: Assist during site outages/shutdowns when required.
  6. Maintenance Records: Maintain accurate maintenance records using the site CMM.
  7. Contract Management: Management of contracts and site contractors as required.
Requirements
  1. Apprenticeship or Qualification: An apprenticeship in electrical/instrumentation engineering or similar, and a relevant engineering qualification at HNC/ONC level or similar.
  2. Experience: Proven hands-on maintenance experience across electrical, control, and instrumentation maintenance in a relevant engineering environment - power plant, refinery, paper mill, steel works, chemical site.
  3. CMMS Experience: Experience using CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems).
  4. Legislation Knowledge: Knowledge of relevant legislation e.g., health and safety and environmental.
