Position Overview

We are in search of dynamic, personable, and motivated Cost Managers/Quantity Surveyors to bolster our growth in the water/utilities sector, significantly impacting both our organization and UK infrastructure.

As a Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor within our UK Infrastructure division, you will engage in a diverse range of client and Turner & Townsend projects and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the realization of Turner & Townsend's 2025 vision.
  • Foster friendly, professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders involved in our projects.
  • Oversee various contracts in alignment with project goals and policies.
  • Deliver precise project cost monitoring, forecasting, and completion reporting in accordance with budgetary constraints.
  • Proactively manage cost variances and contract cash flow, ensuring timely and accurate applications.
  • Collaborate with client and contractor teams to oversee project deliverables, KPIs, and objectives, focusing on program performance, cost management, and value engineering.
  • Effectively manage contract changes, ensuring adherence to governance and best practices.
  • Enhance the accuracy of forecasts and budgets.
  • Provide commercial insight and support to all stakeholders.
  • Negotiate and finalize accounts.
  • Lead teams and commissions as required.
Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will possess a solid understanding of the following areas:
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Contract Management (preferably NEC3, Option C).
  • Cost Management expertise.
  • Change management and control proficiency.
  • Valuation skills.
  • Risk Management capabilities.
  • Procurement knowledge.
  • Estimating and Pricing acumen.

  • Commitment to sharing best practices.

  • Commission management skills.
  • Ability to identify and implement efficiencies throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Strong knowledge of construction industry technical matters, including procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
  • Possession or pursuit of appropriate professional body membership or equivalent qualifications.
