About the Role

As a Software Technical Lead at Babcock International Group, you will play a key role in leading our software development team to deliver high-quality software solutions. You will be responsible for providing technical leadership, guidance, and expertise to the team, ensuring that software development projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the software development team, ensuring that software development projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain technical roadmaps, ensuring that software development projects align with business objectives and strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, business analysts, and quality assurance teams, to ensure that software development projects meet business requirements and quality standards.
  • Ensure that software development projects are delivered in accordance with industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including technical specifications, design documents, and test plans.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to the software development team, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring that software development projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders, project managers, and customers, to ensure that software development projects meet business requirements and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable software development experience, including experience with software development methodologies, such as Agile and Scrum.
  • Strong technical leadership and management skills, including experience with team management, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including experience with stakeholder management and customer-facing roles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience with technical problem-solving and root cause analysis.
  • Experience with software development tools, including experience with version control systems, such as Git, and agile project management tools, such as Jira.
  • Strong understanding of software development principles, including experience with software design patterns, architecture, and testing.
  • Experience with security clearance, including experience with security clearance processes and procedures.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent in software engineering or a related field.
  • Relevant experience and skills, including experience with software development methodologies, technical leadership, and stakeholder management.
