About the Role

Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to lead the Old Age Psychiatry Liaison team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical expertise and leadership to the multidisciplinary team, contributing to educational provision for trainee medical staff and undergraduate medical students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Old Age Psychiatry Liaison team in delivering mental health services for older adults in residential and nursing care facilities in the Bridgend County Borough area.
  • Provide clinical expertise and leadership to the multidisciplinary team.
  • Contribute to educational provision for trainee medical staff and undergraduate medical students.
  • Work closely with the Consultant in Geriatric Medicine to provide care to shared care beds on ward 15 at the Princess of Wales Hospital.
  • Develop and implement secondary care and treatment plans in collaboration with care homes and acute hospital sites.

Requirements
  • Full GMC Registration.
  • MRCPsych or equivalent.
  • On Specialist Register for Old Age Psychiatry or within six months of the anticipated CCT/CESR date.
  • Approved Clinician approval or in a position to achieve it.
