The Food Safety and Quality Assurance Centre of Excellence at PepsiCo is on the lookout for a Microbiology Research Scientist to enhance their team. This position focuses on guaranteeing the production of safe, compliant, and stable products while fostering innovation through a strategic risk-based methodology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in Product Development, Food Safety and Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Regulatory Compliance to assess microbiological data for products and ingredients.
  • Remain informed about microbiology standards, methodologies, and regulatory frameworks as the representative for Europe.
  • Liaise with external laboratories, perform laboratory audits, and analyze test outcomes.
  • Implement PSIP deployment throughout Europe and assist with Mergers and Acquisitions.
  • Provide insights on ingredient and product specifications, including Micro Sampling strategies and aligning mergers with PepsiCo standards.
  • Offer practical support and resolve microbiology challenges in production facilities across Europe.
  • Conduct essential research studies and secure laboratory approvals.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Microbiology, Food Science, Biotechnology, or Food Safety.
  • 3-5 years of experience in laboratory management.
  • Excellent microbiology reporting capabilities (both verbal and written).
  • Proficient in standard office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to set agendas and track progress towards objectives.
  • Capacity to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Openness to travel across Europe for professional purposes.
