About the Role of Senior Quantity Surveyor

You will be responsible for the commercial and surveying responsibilities for large sites. Effectively manage costs for the site, and ensure targets are met by managing and controlling the budget and valuations, including monthly updating of the estimated final costs, and to show absolute cost and value reconciliation. Responsible for managing all sub-contractor procedures and processes, and materials and goods if necessary.

The Responsibilities of a Senior Quantity Surveyor

  • Maintain all cost control procedures working within the guidelines set out within the Group policies and procedures.
  • Be aware of new materials and methods of construction which the company may employ, as well as a sound knowledge of the latest regulations, codes of practice, and NHBC requirements.
  • Ensure that subordinates receive the required training and mentorship for them to learn and thrive in their responsibilities.
  • Be responsible for all cost control procedures, including managing and controlling the budget and valuations by always updating the estimated final costs, and having the ability to show absolute cost and value reconciliation.
  • Be able to control all commercial tasks and responsibilities on large sites, including those in excess of 200 units.
  • Compile Site Start budget, liaising with all Departments to ensure the document is completed on time to allow the construction to commence, and Sales to start marketing.

Requirements for Senior Quantity Surveyor

  • Qualified to HND level or higher with a valid CSCS card.
  • Highly numerate with excellent attention to detail, able to gather, interpret, and present data to facilitate preparation of budgets and subsequent valuations.
