Job Title: Vehicle Mechanic Coach
At Babcock International Group, we're working to create a safe and secure world, together. As a Vehicle Mechanic Coach, you'll play a vital role in supporting the equipment used by the British Army. This includes the fleet management of over 50 vehicles, ranging from quad bikes and generators to main battle tanks, and weapons from pistols to cannons.
The Role
As a Vehicle Mechanic Coach, you'll visit Vehicle Mechanic learners within their workplace, using your vocational experience and knowledge to deliver learning, coach, assess, and support them to achieve their Apprenticeships. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting, motivating, and coaching all learners through their apprenticeship programme, ensuring all components are completed in a timely manner while meeting awarding organisation, ESFA, and Ofsted requirements.
- Monitoring and reviewing learners in line with customer expectations.
- Ensuring all required documentation is completed to the correct standard and within agreed timelines.
- Providing portfolio building advice and guidance to learners based on the requirements of their programme.
- Effectively recording, planning, and tracking individual learner progress in accordance with agreed paperwork and reporting processes.
This role is full-time, 35 hours per week, and is fully remote. There is a requirement to travel to locations including but not limited to Folkstone, Maidstone, Southampton, Chichester, Aldershot, Windsor, and Sandhurst 4 days per week.
Essential Experience
We're looking for someone with considerable experience in the vehicle mechanic field, a good understanding of work-based learning programmes, and previous experience in the defence sector, ideally within the army arena.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must hold a relevant industry-related qualification (Vehicle Mechanic minimum of Level 3), a Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (desirable), an Award/Certificate in Education & Training (or equivalent), and Maths and English – GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent).

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance, as well as Enhanced DBS and Child Barring Service (EDBSCBL) for this role.
