We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Manager - VAT Compliance Specialist to join our team at Liberty Global Shared Services Limited. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely preparation and submission of VAT returns, as well as providing technical support and tax advice to the business.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and submit VAT returns, including VAT return to GL reconciliations, journal preparation, and monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Collaborate with the Senior Managers to drive system improvements and embrace the use of technology to create a best-class in-house VAT Compliance function.
- Manage the onboarding of new operating entities, including scoping out reporting requirements, data gathering, UAT testing, and assessing exception testing requirements.
- Develop and maintain process controls, aligning processes to develop digital reporting requirements, and reviewing and approving invoices.
- Provide technical support and tax advice to the business, including detailed tax data analysis and reporting on accuracy and compliance matters.
- Professional Accountancy or Tax qualification (ACA, ACCA, CTA etc) or part-qualified with proven VAT Compliance PQE.
- Experience with VAT compliance, Ledger accounting, or other tax compliance activity is an advantage.
- Strong Excel and financial systems skills (e.g. Oracle, Hyperion).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working in a complex environment, while delivering to deadlines.
- Ability to research and resolve complex accounting or taxation issues.
