Overview: Teaching Personnel is collaborating with a specialized educational institution focused on Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The role involves assisting students with various learning challenges and disabilities to enhance their communication, independence, and employability skills.

Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate will possess relevant experience and demonstrate a genuine passion for supporting others, along with confidence in managing challenging behaviors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist under the guidance of teaching staff to help students engage with the curriculum and fully participate in educational activities.
  • Contribute to the planning and assessment of learning activities, providing constructive feedback to educators regarding student progress.
  • Support educators in behavior management, ensuring students remain focused on their tasks according to individual expectations.
  • Offer assistance to students exhibiting challenging behaviors, adhering to support plans and risk assessments under the direct supervision of a teacher.

Requirements:

  • Possession of an enhanced DBS registered with the update service.
  • Demonstrated patience and reliability.
  • Experience working with individuals with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or disabilities.
  • Confidence in supporting children and young adults.
  • Previous experience as a care or support worker.
  • Training in Moving and Handling techniques.

Additional Information: This position is intended for a long-term engagement, with a competitive daily rate starting from £85.
