We are seeking a General Service Assistant to join our team at Officers' Mess, Alanbrooke Barracks, Thirsk. As a General Service Assistant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and supporting our team in delivering a high-quality experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serving customers, clearing and resetting tables, and washing up as required.
  • Operating a bar service and handling cash (Must be 18+ years)
  • Cleaning kitchen, kitchen equipment, back of house areas, crockery, and cutlery.
  • Cleaning and tidying counter, light equipment/machines, food preparation, and public areas.
  • Preparing and serving food and beverages to customers.
  • Performing daily paperwork and keeping diligent records as required.
  • Following food hygiene and safety procedures.
  • Reporting to line manager any feedback, complaints, suggestions, stock needs, breakages, faults, or hazards identified during the course of the work.

Requirements

  • Food Hygiene Certificate - Level 2 (desirable although relevant training will be provided)
  • Experience in a similar role desirable but not necessary
  • Basic numeracy skills
  • Shift patterns may vary to fit the business
  • Must be able to work in all areas of the business if required (including kitchen and bar duties)
  • Transport required (remote area with limited public transport)
  • Reasonable overtime to help with Functions
  • DSB check required
