Job Description

Waterman Aspen is seeking a skilled Bridge Inspector to join our team of engineers and technical specialists. As a Bridge Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and integrity of our clients' infrastructure assets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out General Inspection and Principal inspection of Highway Structures in accordance with the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges.
  • Record and report on all inspections, including the use of Structures Management System in accordance with the CSS Bridge Condition Index system.
  • Interpret bridge structure defects in construction materials such as steel and concrete.
  • Understand the importance of efficient reporting of urgent and severe defects that have the potential to reduce capacity and performance.
  • Record defects on site and report via online structural management systems.
Requirements:
  • Experience in Civil Engineering with particular relevance to inspection and maintenance of highway structures assets.
  • Sound technical understanding of construction materials and forms.
  • Experienced in the management and maintenance of trunk or local road network.
  • Demonstrable experience in a relevant discipline preferably involving work of a structural or building nature is desirable.
  • Full valid UK driving licence.
