Job Title: Production Team Leader - Helmet Finishing

Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and motivated Production Team Leader to join our team at NP Aerospace, Ltd. As a Production Team Leader, you will provide decisive leadership and guidance to your team, focusing on the finishing processes of our world-renowned combat helmets.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Production:
    • Allocate manpower to meet production targets.
    • Analysis and communication of production KPI's at the daily shopfloor board meetings.
    • Maintain operational excellence, ensuring daily production output is met, and actively problem-solve where issues arise.
    • Directly handle performance management issues with team members who are not meeting production requirements.
    • Maintain standards and skill levels to support production schedules using skill matrices and process audits.
  • People:
    • Identify training needs, carry out training, and oversee outputs to assess the competence of the team.
    • Carry out first-line HR duties, i.e., job chats, return-to-work meetings, holiday admin.
    • Identify and optimize individual team members' qualities and strengths to maximize effectiveness.
  • Processes:
    • Conduct risk assessments, ensuring that the methods and systems of work are safe. Lead by example, ensuring the team is aware of and adheres to the H&S policy.
    • Plan to achieve production targets, track results, and carry out root cause countermeasures as required.
    • Carry out Start-of-Shift Meetings and toolbox talks.
    • Ensure that the team works in a safe and efficient manner, using the latest manufacturing instructions, and adhere to NP Aerospace's safety policy.
    • Enforce NP Aerospace's policy on plant and process security.
  • Product:
    • Aim for continuous improvement through effective communication throughout all teams, including production, quality, engineering, and technical teams.
    • Promote, through individual accountability, the highest quality standards allied to the manufactured product.

Critical Outputs and Achievements Required:

  • Quality: > 96% RFT
  • Productivity: < 100% of Std Hours
  • Schedule: > 95% adherence to the Master Production Schedule
  • 5S: > 90% 5S achievement

Requirements:

  • Team Leader experience in a manufacturing setting is an advantage.
  • A solid understanding of core disciplines, intermediate level IT skills, and a commitment to being actively present with the workforce for continuous monitoring, evaluation, and supervision are also required attributes.
