Job Opportunity

The University of Edinburgh is seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of Early Career Teaching and Research Fellow in Korean Studies. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent PhD graduate or early career researcher to join our Asian Studies department and contribute to the development of Korean Studies at the University.

About the Role

This fixed-term full-time appointment is ideal for a candidate who is passionate about teaching and research in Korean Studies. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching during semester time and will have the opportunity to focus on developing their research during non-teaching weeks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach and assess students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
  • Design and deliver course materials
  • Contribute to the development of Korean Studies at the University
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the student learning experience
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a PhD in-hand in a relevant discipline, such as politics, international relations, sociology, media and communications, or social anthropology. You will also need to have fluency in English and Korean languages, as well as a commitment to high-quality teaching and learning.
