The Role:

The Business Analyst for Student Information Systems plays a pivotal role in the university's operational framework.

IT Services Overview:


IT Services (ITS) is an integral component of the Infrastructure Services Directorate, which encompasses both the University Estates & Facilities Directorate and ITS itself.


The Estates & Facilities Directorate is responsible for maintaining the physical infrastructure of the University, while ITS focuses on enhancing and transforming IT utilization across the institution.


This integration aims to ensure that digital technologies are seamlessly woven into the university's fabric, providing a cohesive digital experience throughout the campus.


ITS is organized into four main functional areas:

  • IT Operations
  • Technology Services
  • Cyber Security
  • IT Projects


Technology Services, where this position is situated, is a newly established department within IT, tasked with the stewardship of strategic platforms across the university.


This innovative approach is designed to foster consistency and governance in the ongoing development of technologies that span the entire institution.


Key Examples of Platforms Include:
University's Data Exchange (UDX); Student Information Systems, ServiceNow, Salesforce, and a new ERP.


In collaboration with business stakeholders, the team aims to enhance university operations by aligning product improvements with institutional objectives.


As a Business Analyst, the incumbent will play a crucial role in comprehending, translating, and facilitating the implementation of these enhancements, working closely with stakeholders at all levels to ensure value and return on investment.

Duties and Responsibilities:


The Business Analyst for Student Information Systems is essential in translating business needs into effective solutions utilizing the platform.

This role requires close collaboration with stakeholders to understand their requirements, streamline processes, and drive improvements.

The ideal candidate should possess extensive knowledge of IT service management, strong analytical capabilities, and a proven history of successful SITS implementations and projects.

This position is vital for enhancing operational efficiency and user satisfaction.
