Working Hours: Monday to Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM with a 1-hour lunch break | Additional hours may be necessary based on business requirements.

Compensation: £50,000 per annum, dependent on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and implement essential engineering processes aligned with the Engineering Road Map.
  • Develop a cost-effective maintenance strategy to fulfill site safety, quality, and performance requirements.
  • Plan, enhance, and execute maintenance activities on site equipment to boost reliability.
  • Possess extensive knowledge and a proven history of creating and applying Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Drive talent development within the department, focusing on building competencies and fostering the right behaviors.
  • Analyze operational failures and production losses, providing recommendations and implementing solutions to enhance systems and processes.
  • Lead initiatives in proactive maintenance, reliability, production excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Possess deep expertise in operational excellence, coaching teams on the application of principles and tools.
  • Support the integration of smart factory software to enhance reliability and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Effectively communicate the status of production lines and equipment based on OEE metrics.
  • Guide and mentor team members to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Encourage a culture of 'top loss' analysis.
  • Facilitate annual reviews of the Criticality Matrix.
  • Drive the execution of the Inventory Management Plan.
  • Assist in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Promote the use of root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques such as RCA, 5 Whys, and DMAIC.
  • Foster a genuine continuous improvement mindset within the department.
  • Support the department's 5S initiatives.
  • Champion reliability-centered maintenance and Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) activities.
  • Provide leadership and development opportunities for the engineering team.
  • Inspire the engineering team through effective leadership and coaching.
  • Support the implementation of maintenance excellence initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to planned maintenance schedules through strategic resource allocation.
  • Analyze CMMS data to assist in forward planning and identify opportunities for equipment enhancements.

Required Skills:

  • Experience collaborating with contractors, suppliers, and technical personnel to troubleshoot and resolve root cause issues.
  • Proficient in planning engineering tasks by establishing priorities, scheduling, and communicating effectively with stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Mainsaver PM, and proficiency in Office 365.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Significant experience in leading and developing teams.
  • Understanding of quality standards and the impact of incidents on quality.
  • Effective team player with strong influencing and communication skills.
  • High levels of enthusiasm and passion for the role.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Recognized Engineering Apprenticeship or an ONC/HNC or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical disciplines, or a degree.
  • If none of the above, a minimum Level 3 C&G with at least 5 years of experience in a similar industry.
  • Experience in a maintenance environment.
  • Strong logical decision-making abilities.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload effectively.
  • Capacity to work under pressure.
