Key Responsibilities
  • Provide secure and reliable access to corporate data, ensuring the integrity and security of data items and their control environment.
  • Deliver guidance, support, and system solutions to enable continued operation and growth of the business, including actioning IT business continuity plans as required.
  • Install, upgrade, monitor, and tune database software (SQL Server) to ensure optimal performance.
  • Control backups and recovery of databases and associated software, monitoring integrity and security and escalating/reporting any issues or security breaches.
  • Implement and monitor the group's access control policy in line with legal and company requirements.
  • Advise on the selection and acquisition of database software, establishing and managing database standards and providing advice, guidance, and support as required.
Requirements
  • Experience in Microsoft environments, including database design and optimisation.
  • MS Azure experience.
  • SQL Server database operating experience.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work activities, manage, configure, and optimise the database environment.
  • Microsoft certification or equivalent in Database administration.
