Job PurposeThe Technical Training Project Engineer will play a critical role in achieving Technical Mastery in the Aston Martin dealer network. This involves developing and delivering training courses that meet the highest standards of quality and excellence. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive training strategy that ensures our dealership technicians have the skills and knowledge they need to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain a global technical training curriculum that meets the evolving needs of our dealership network.
- Set the technical training strategy for new vehicle launches, ensuring that our dealership technicians are equipped to handle the latest technologies and innovations.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to understand new technologies and product content, and develop training programs that meet the needs of our dealership network.
- Deliver technical training to dealership technicians in the UK, Europe, and Middle East regions, with a supporting role in delivering training in China, Asia Pacific, and the Americas.
- Define and set the 12-month training calendar using our Dealership Training Academy, through the Kalidas platform.
- Work closely with Aftersales Business Managers to ensure excellent attendance levels and a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Manage our bespoke technical training facility, classrooms, workshop, and fleet of Aston Martin vehicles located at St Athan.
- Expert knowledge of vehicle technical architecture and servicing and maintenance procedures.
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent presentation skills.
- Able to take a creative and engaging approach to training courses in both delivery and development.
- Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint user and sufficient IT literacy to produce training materials.
- Practical experience using workshop tools Picoscope and previous experience delivering technical training.
- Electric Vehicle experience and additional languages an advantage.
- Extensive knowledge of AML's products and driving license.
- Accredited training or teaching qualifications such as Degree or Diploma and Engineering Degree.
- IMI (Institute of the Motor Industry) Electric Vehicle training.
Courage and ownership are essential for this role. The successful candidate will be a natural communicator who can adapt their style to suit dealership technicians from cross-cultural backgrounds. They will take ownership for developing training, delivering training, and ensuring that enough technicians attend to achieve dealership Technical Mastery.
