Marine Systems Engineer at Finning International

Become a vital member of our team as a Marine Systems Engineer at Finning International, a leading dealer in the marine sector. In this role, you will be tasked with addressing marine service and repair inquiries, diagnosing issues, and delivering comprehensive information to our clients. Your responsibilities will encompass maintenance, troubleshooting, and testing of Caterpillar and MaK marine engines.

Position Overview:
  • Type: Permanent Employment
  • Compensation: £33,400 - £37,900 base salary
  • Annual Performance Bonus & Tool Allowance
  • 25 days of annual leave plus public holidays

Key Responsibilities:
  • Address service inquiries and provide estimated arrival times for service visits
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions and prepare detailed repair estimates
  • Identify and order necessary parts for repairs
  • Conduct maintenance, repairs, and testing on marine propulsion systems
Required Skills:
  • Experience with safety, health, environmental, and quality management systems
  • Understanding of medium and high-speed marine propulsion systems
  • Proficiency in both electronic and mechanical systems
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities
  • Capability to perform under pressure and adhere to deadlines
Qualifications:

A formal apprenticeship and NVQ Level 3 certification are essential. Experience with Caterpillar or MaK engines is advantageous.
