We are thrilled to announce a vacancy for a Project Technical Manager within our Northern Home Counties Division, a key player in the UK housing sector.

Key Responsibilities

The Project Technical Manager will assist the technical director in overseeing and managing technical operations across various projects from initiation to finalization.

The main responsibilities include:

  • Supervising all technical elements across a range of projects with differing complexities.
  • Managing the design workflow to ensure comprehensive and precise information is available from the beginning, including overseeing the tendering process and selection of design consultants.
  • Coordinating the procurement and management of utilities, services, warranties, and budgetary fees.
  • Ensuring compliance with planning and building regulation requirements.
  • Validating conveyance plans and easements.
  • Engaging with regulatory authorities such as Planning, Building Control, and Fire Safety.
  • Controlling and distributing site information and drawings.
  • Collaborating with the Commercial department to ensure all necessary orders are established and that budgets and completion costs are accurate.
  • Providing support to site and sales teams as required.
Qualifications and Experience

Experience:

  • Proficiency in architectural drawing.
  • Experience in both brownfield and greenfield housing projects.
  • Familiarity with medium-rise complex developments.
  • Knowledge of building regulations and current NHBC standards is advantageous.
  • Prior experience in a coordination role or within a technical capacity for a volume house builder is preferred.

Education and Training:

  • Degree or HNC/HND in a relevant technical field.
  • Possession of a CSCS card or equivalent.
  • Valid UK driving license.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong understanding of construction techniques, materials, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of CDM regulations.
  • Excellent communication, listening, and presentation skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Organized, methodical, and committed to delivering high-quality results.
  • Able to identify and resolve issues promptly and effectively.
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Effective problem-solving and delegation skills.
  • Proficient in IT, with a solid understanding of Microsoft Office applications and adaptability to new systems.

Working Environment
  • This is an office-based role that requires regular travel to development sites and meetings.
