IT Systems Support Lead

We are seeking a skilled and motivated IT Business Systems Support Lead to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of our IT support team.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 4-5 support technicians, ensuring high levels of productivity, technical expertise, and excellent customer service.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT support function, ensuring that all systems are running smoothly and that any issues are promptly addressed.
- Manage the ticketing system and ensure efficient resolution of support requests, prioritizing and assigning tickets to team members based on urgency, complexity, and skill level.
- Provide hands-on support for complex technical issues, acting as an escalation point for the team, and troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network, and systems issues as needed.
- Monitor and maintain IT systems, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability, including routine maintenance, updates, and patch management.
- Identify and implement process improvements within the support function to enhance efficiency, service quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Embed solutions into new and existing systems, ensuring seamless integration and enhancing overall system functionality.
- Provide comprehensive systems training to team members, ensuring they are well-equipped to utilize the solutions effectively and efficiently.
- Actively identify and address any disruptions in the operating rhythm, implementing corrective measures to maintain smooth and consistent workflow processes.
- Ensure that all processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps are well-documented and kept up-to-date for future reference.
- Work closely with other IT teams, departments, and stakeholders to ensure alignment on technology initiatives and support needs.
- Generate regular reports on team performance, ticket resolution times, system health, and other key metrics, and present findings to senior management.
- Experience in an IT support role, with leadership or supervisory position.
- Willingness to work onsite at Bridgwater and Hinkley Point C on a hybrid basis.
- Strong understanding of ICT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, and virtualization.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and lead a team in finding effective solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
