Position Overview:

The Logistics Coordinator plays a crucial role within the Sourcing & Production department. This position is accountable for managing all incoming and outgoing shipments, including documentation and license management, while collaborating with suppliers and regulatory bodies. Additionally, the role involves overseeing the control of managed inventory and ensuring the seamless delivery of materials to the production line. The Logistics Coordinator will report directly to the Production Planning Manager and will collaborate closely with various teams to meet production and shipping timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Process Improvement:

  • Initiate projects to optimize processes, establish key performance indicators, and promote continuous improvement and cost efficiency in logistics and shipping operations.
  • Develop and implement Health and Safety, and Environmental compliance standards, providing training to personnel.
  • Oversee local development of the ERP System's logistics and shipping modules and conduct training for staff.

Logistics Operations:

  • Manage the processes for all incoming and outgoing materials at the Fareham facility.
  • Develop and oversee the arrival control process in conjunction with the quality assurance department.
  • Address defective items from production, managing the reclamation of quarantined and/or defective materials.
  • Ensure accurate stock movements and establish appropriate storage locations for efficient picking.

Inventory Oversight:

  • Guarantee precise picking of shop orders and customer requests.
  • Supervise stock control of direct and indirect materials, collaborating with the purchasing team to maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on shipping activities, inventory status, and stock movements.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in logistics and customs procedures.
  • Familiarity with import/export regulations and protocols.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Export Control for military items.
  • Strong organizational and inventory management capabilities.
  • Proficient in logistics and inventory management systems, preferably IFS.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Physical stamina and capability to lift heavy items and operate material handling equipment.
  • Proficient in computer applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Forklift certification.
