Position Overview:

The Logistics Coordinator plays a crucial role within the Sourcing & Production division. This position is accountable for managing all incoming and outgoing shipments, including the necessary documentation and compliance, while liaising with suppliers and regulatory bodies. Additionally, the role involves overseeing managed inventory and ensuring the seamless delivery of materials to the production line. The Logistics Coordinator will report directly to the Production Planning Manager and collaborate closely with various teams to achieve production and shipping targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Process Enhancement:

  • Initiate and lead projects aimed at improving processes, establishing key performance indicators, and promoting continuous improvement and cost efficiency in logistics and shipping operations.
  • Develop and uphold Health and Safety, as well as Environmental compliance standards, providing training to personnel.
  • Facilitate local development of the ERP System's logistics and shipping functionalities and offer training to staff.

Logistics Operations:

  • Oversee the procedures for all incoming and outgoing materials at the Fareham facility.
  • Collaborate with the quality department to establish and manage the arrival control process.
  • Address defective items from production and manage the reclamation of quarantined or faulty goods.
  • Ensure accurate stock movements and set up appropriate storage locations to enhance picking efficiency.

Inventory Oversight:

  • Guarantee precise picking of shop orders and customer requests.
  • Supervise stock control of both direct and indirect materials, working alongside the purchasing team to maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Compile detailed reports on shipping activities, inventory status, and stock movements.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in logistics and customs clearance.
  • Familiarity with import/export regulations and procedures.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Export Control for military items.
  • Strong organizational and inventory management capabilities.
  • Proficient in logistics and inventory management systems, preferably IFS.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Physical stamina and capability to lift heavy items and operate material handling equipment.
  • Proficient in computer applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Possession of a forklift license.
