Job Description

**Financial Manager - Accounting Lead**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Manager to lead our accounting team in the UK. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day finance function, supervising and mentoring the team, and monitoring for any regulatory breaches.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation of annual accounts for the London office in coordination with the external accounting firm and the Firm-wide team.
  • Manage the general ledger activities, ensuring adherence to deadlines, quality standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the accounting and billing & collections functions, including the semi-annual collection drives for the London office.
  • Prepare and manage VAT submissions, PSA, and P11D submissions.
  • Manage the expense & revenue budget process for the office, working closely with the Business Director and the Managing Shareholder.
  • Prepare regular cashflow forecasts for submission to the Firm finance team.
  • Prepare monthly management reports and balance sheet reconciliations.

Requirements:

  • Be fully qualified in either ACCA/ACA/CIMA or equivalent.
  • Have experience working in a law firm before and strong knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules.
  • Have experience leading a finance team/ managing people.
  • Be happy taking on a hands-on role and getting stuck in to the finance operations work when needed.
  • Be confident to face off to the partners and fee earning population as the lead on finance queries, and financial commercial decision support.

Working Arrangements:

The successful candidate will be required to work 3 days a week in the office, with the possibility of working 5 days a week initially to get to know the team in London.
