Religious Education Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Religious Education (RE) Teacher to join our faculty in a full-time, permanent position at a highly regarded secondary school in Portsmouth.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the school's flourishing RE department and inspire students to explore the diverse world of religious beliefs, practices, and ethical considerations.
Key Responsibilities- Design and deliver engaging RE lessons that align with the national curriculum and school's ethos, catering to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Cultivate a safe and inclusive classroom environment where students feel comfortable exploring complex and sensitive topics.
- Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their learning journey.
- Collaborate with colleagues within the RE department and across the wider school community to enrich the RE curriculum and contribute to extracurricular activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Religious Studies, Theology, or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification.
- Proven experience teaching RE at the secondary level, ideally across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Passionate about Religious Education and its relevance to contemporary society.
- Committed to fostering critical thinking, empathy, and respect for diverse perspectives.
- Possesses excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Able to create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment for all students.
