About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Neonatal Paediatric Consultant to join our dynamic team at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Neonatal team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading a multi-professional team, and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in neonatology, including stabilisation of critically unwell babies and management of neonates at all gestations.
  • Lead a multi-professional team, taking full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients.
  • Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures to improve patient outcomes and service delivery.
  • Contribute to the development of our services, including the expansion of our neonatal team and the introduction of new clinical initiatives.
  • Participate in clinical audit and quality improvement activities to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
  • Provide teaching, examination, and accreditation duties, as well as contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate education.
  • Participate in an out-of-hours consultant rota, providing cover for colleagues and ensuring continuity of patient care.
Requirements
  • Fully registered with the GMC and holding a CCT (or equivalent) in Paediatrics and Neonatology.
  • Expertise in full range of Paediatric and Neonatal conditions, with experience in neonatology and competent to manage neonates at all gestations.
  • Ability to lead a multi-professional team and take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients.
  • Flexibility and enthusiasm to develop services as required.
  • Sub-specialty interests will be supported.
