Islamic Relief Worldwide is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead its global advocacy and media efforts. As Director of External Relations and Advocacy, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective advocacy and media strategies to promote the organization's mission and values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of global advocacy and media strategies to promote Islamic Relief Worldwide's mission and values.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including international media outlets, governments, and civil society organizations.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for senior staff on advocacy and media engagement.
  • Manage and coordinate global advocacy and media efforts, including crisis communications and reputation management.
  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors to provide strategic guidance on external relations and advocacy.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as social development, communications, or international relations.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in leading advocacy and media efforts in international non-profit organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of international media organizations and effective approaches to media engagement.
  • Experience in developing and managing significant budgets.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic or French is highly desirable.
