About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Nurse to lead our acute Respiratory Ward at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of patient care and leading a dedicated team of healthcare professionals.

Main Responsibilities
  • Oversee the clinical management of the ward, ensuring that all patients receive appropriate respiratory support.
  • Manage staff performance, conduct regular appraisals, and address any issues related to sickness or absenteeism.
  • Maintain health and safety standards on the ward, ensuring compliance with all relevant guidelines and protocols.
  • Identify and mentor future leaders within your team, contributing to succession planning.
Requirements
  • Registered Adult Nurse on the NMC register.
  • Substantial relevant and recent clinical experience within a complex healthcare setting or Acute NHS setting.
  • Demonstrable current, recent experience of team leadership and management within the healthcare setting.
  • Experience of being a mentor and demonstrating a significant contribution to innovative practice or change management.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and inspire others, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
