Highway Asset Management Team Leader

About the Role

We are seeking an ambitious, self-motivated Highway Asset Team Leader who can bring new experience and knowledge into our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identification and procurement of highway condition surveys
  • Update the digital highway network through UKPMS systems and GIS
  • Input and analysis of Highway condition data in UKPMS
  • Reporting on and the interpretation of condition data using GIS and various other asset management tools
  • Provide statistical analysis for submission to government and senior management
  • Interpretation of data to provide projections of future condition to provide evidence for future bids for funding
  • Creation of provisional forward maintenance plan based on highway condition
  • Use of life cycle planning, whole life costing and deterioration modelling for longer term highway maintenance strategy
  • Interpretation of SCRIM data
  • Production of data on plans in Red/Amber/Green format
  • Maintenance of the Authority's Street Gazetteer in accordance with national guidelines
  • Liaison with the Council's Land and Property Custodian to maintain the integrity between gazetteers
  • Submission of the gazetteer to Government
  • Creation of new streets in the Council's Highway Asset Management software
  • Representation of the Authority at regional and national level
About You

You will be required from time to time to visit sites across the city and beyond the Salford boundary, so a full driving licence is required. You will require effective written and oral communication skills and well-developed numeracy skills. A knowledge of highway construction materials and methods of application is also required. You will need to be an excellent team worker who can motivate and lead by example and be able to communicate effectively with a varied range of customers and colleagues.
