Job Title: Locum Consultant in Medicine for the Elderly & Stroke Medicine

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Locum Consultant in Medicine for the Elderly & Stroke Medicine to join our team at Western General Hospital in Edinburgh.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, contributing to the development of clinical services, and participating in education and research activities.

The post offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, with a strong focus on education, training, and quality improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing in-patient care for patients within the stroke unit and contributing to the assessment and management of older people in the acute assessment frailty unit
  • Contributing to the weekday and weekend consultant on-call rota for Medicine for the Elderly at the Western General Hospital
  • Developing and implementing clinical services to improve patient outcomes and experience
  • Participating in education and research activities, including the delivery of undergraduate teaching and supervision of junior doctors
