We are seeking a skilled Cost Estimation Specialist to join our esteemed Warehouse and Distribution client based in Leeds. In this role, you will report directly to the Sales & Customer Service Manager and be responsible for the comprehensive preparation, formulation, and delivery of all estimates and quotations related to our client's production and manufacturing activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate project specifications and blueprints to ascertain the scope of work and necessary materials.
- Collaborate with project managers to collect essential information for precise cost estimation.
- Prepare and scrutinize all tender documentation, including detailed cost estimates that encompass labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.
- Analyze historical data to inform decisions regarding cost factors and pricing strategies.
- Monitor and track project costs throughout the project lifecycle.
- Utilize industry-standard software for processing and estimating quotes and orders.
- Interpret customer and architect drawings effectively.
- Develop quotations and liaise with suppliers, including subcontractors.
- Assess project risks, particularly for high-risk schemes.
- Continuously enhance the pricing schedule and update estimating procedures.
Essential Skills:
- HND/BTEC level qualification in the Manufacturing/Engineering sector.
- Relevant industry experience, particularly in Doors, kitchens, and bathrooms, is advantageous.
- Proficient technical skills and knowledge of available software are crucial.
- Strong capability to read and interpret tender drawings and specifications.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- A proactive, approachable, and adaptable mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently.
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction materials, methods, and processes.
- Proficient in utilizing cost estimating software and tools.
- Understanding of health and safety practices.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
- Insight into manufacturing and procurement supply chains.
