Your Responsibilities

As a Cost Management Specialist, you will be instrumental in delivering digital infrastructure throughout the UK by fostering strong, collaborative relationships with our construction partners and teams. Your role will involve:

  • Evaluating contractor performance and certifying interim and final payments
  • Reviewing and approving project variation submissions
  • Identifying and mitigating commercial and contractual risks by applying our risk management policies
  • Providing commercial and contractual guidance to city build teams, including valuation certification, correspondence issuance, claims management, budget oversight, and performance data generation
  • Establishing and nurturing contractual relationships with construction partners

Qualifications

As a key player in commercial and contractual decision-making, you should possess substantial experience in commercial management and contractor procurement, along with a solid understanding of NEC3 ECC forms. Additionally, you should have:

  • Strong negotiation skills with suppliers and partners
  • Experience managing large capital expenditure projects
  • Proficiency in Excel and data management tools
  • Experience in using spreadsheets for financial data analysis and compilation
  • Strong presentation and report writing abilities
  • A background in construction, telecommunications, civil engineering, or utilities is preferred
