Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Surveyor to join our client, a leading Construction Consultancy, in their Birmingham office. As a Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for working on various projects, including dilapidations, schedule of conditions surveys, tender reviews, party wall work, contract administration, project management, and specification writing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract Administration: Manage contracts from inception to completion, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Dilapidations: Conduct surveys to determine the condition of properties and provide reports to clients.
  • Party Wall: Work with clients and neighboring property owners to resolve party wall disputes.
  • Landlord and Tenant: Provide advice on landlord and tenant matters, including lease negotiations and disputes.
  • Defect Analysis and Rectification: Identify defects in buildings and develop plans for rectification.
  • JCT Contract Administration (Minor and IF): Manage contracts using the Joint Contracts Tribunal (JCT) Minor Works Building Contract and Intermediate Form of Contract.
  • Technical Compliance (Planning & Building Regulations): Ensure that projects comply with relevant planning and building regulations.
  • Specification writing: Develop specifications for building projects, including materials and finishes.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years' building surveying experience.
  • Hold a relevant qualification, such as MRICS.
  • Full driving license.
  • Able to work on a hybrid basis in Birmingham.
