Position Overview
As a vital contributor to our operations, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the safety and integrity of the infrastructure network. Your responsibilities will include regular assessments and upkeep of bridges and minor structures, collaborating closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders across the network.
This position is part of the Balfour Beatty Highways division, specifically within the Connect Plus Services (CPS) team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine evaluations of minor structures throughout the network.
- Perform necessary maintenance on inspected structures that do not require extensive planning, utilizing small machinery which you will be trained to operate.
- Oversee soft estate maintenance tasks, including grass cutting and hedge trimming.
- Carry out inspections at heights as required.
- Capture and log data into our internal systems accurately.
- Adhere to a planned activity schedule, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Maintain thorough records of all work performed and tasks assigned.
Work Schedule
Our teams operate on various shifts, and this role will necessitate a combination of day and night shifts to fulfill project requirements. Flexibility is essential, and we will provide support and necessary time off to manage work-life balance.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Technical Skills: Proficient in utilizing advanced IT tools to manage and update operational systems, ensuring precision and dependability in digital processes.
- Professional Standards: Demonstrate a strong work ethic, consistently delivering high-quality results and showing dedication to team objectives.
- Certification: Must possess a valid CSCS Card.
- Small Project Management: Proven experience in overseeing and executing small-scale projects effectively.
- Safety Awareness: Familiarity with working at heights, including the use of MEWPS and gantry access ladders, prioritizing safety and efficiency.
- Flexible Availability: Willingness to adapt to varying work hours, including night shifts, to accommodate project demands.
- Equipment Handling: Skillfully operate small machinery, contributing to operational efficiency while adhering to safety protocols.
