Job Title: Medical Device Engineering Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Device Engineering Specialist to join our Clinical Engineering team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective management of medical devices across the organization.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will have a strong background in medical technology and experience in medical device management in a healthcare setting. You will be responsible for planning and executing cost-effective procurement and support of medical devices, as well as evaluating options for equipment lifecycle support.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage equipment deployment into clinical service, including planning of ongoing maintenance provision.
  • Support the Trust response to medical equipment related safety alerts, including manufacturer field safety notices and device safety information.
  • Provide engineering advice and support to consultant, clinical, scientific and technical staff on highly complex issues involving medical devices.
  • Participate in projects across the organization to fully utilize information/data sources to provide rounded insights into system performance and patient safety risks.
Requirements
  • Masters degree in Medical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Post-graduate qualification related to medical device management.
  • Working knowledge of legislation and guidance relevant to the management of medical devices.
  • Experience of developing medical device requirement specifications and leading technical evaluations.
