About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled FP&A Analyst to join our Journals team at Oxford University Press. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a critical role in supporting the preparation and analysis of annual Society Accounts, Society Budgets, and month-end processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform FP&A activities, including reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
  • Run Society Accounts through our excel accounting programme, investigating any variances and ensuring accounts reconcile.
  • Liaise directly with the Publisher to review accounts and answer any queries to enable accounts to be signed off.
  • Analyse financial information to ensure accuracy, investigate anomalies, and provide explanations on variances against budget.
  • Raise contractual invoices for inclusion within the Annual Accounts.
  • Raise payments to external Societies and Editors in line with contractual deadlines.
  • Support the FP&A team in building the 5-Year Plan (5YP).
  • Build, analyse, and review Society Budgets.
  • Ensure month-end processes are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Review Trading account and investigate variances.
About You

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented FP&A Analyst with a strong finance background and excellent excel skills. You will be responsible for integrating data, problem-solving, and analysis techniques to define problems and implement solutions.

Essential Skills:
  • Finance qualification or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • Experience of problem-solving and analysis techniques to define problems.
  • Commitment to continual personal professional development.
Desirable Skills:
  • Initiative and ability to successfully implement new ideas.
  • Ability to clearly communicate compelling messages - verbal and written.
  • Finance tools (including excel) and technology awareness.
