About the Opportunity: Hunter Mason Consulting Ltd is seeking a dedicated Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. This role presents a unique chance to engage in a significant long-term project that encompasses various construction endeavors.

Project Overview: The successful candidate will be involved in a comprehensive project that includes:

  • Demolition and reconstruction of a retail complex
  • Refurbishment of a high-end hotel
  • New construction and renovation of residential, commercial, and hospitality properties
  • Restoration of historical sites

This extensive project is expected to span several years, and we are looking for a Quantity Surveyor who is committed to professional growth and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engaging with clients to assess their requirements and address any necessary adjustments regarding pricing or feasibility
  • Estimating material quantities, costs, labor expenses, and establishing a realistic project timeline
  • Negotiating contracts and work schedules with labor providers
  • Providing guidance to clients and teams on legal issues and disputes
  • Overseeing subcontractors, ensuring safety protocols, monitoring construction progress, and managing material requirements, including any alterations that may affect costs
  • Preparing accounts for labor and suppliers for payment processing
  • Compiling reports that detail costs and project advancements for clients

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including active listening to identify client needs and effectively relay information to the construction team
  • Mathematical proficiency for calculating material quantities and construction expenses
  • Customer service skills to ensure client satisfaction
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of engineering principles, construction practices, and technology
  • Familiarity with current building regulations and health and safety standards
  • Proficiency in computer applications and project management software
