Recreation Assistant

Leisure Focus is seeking a Recreation Assistant to join our team at Braywick Leisure Centre in Maidenhead, Berkshire. As a Recreation Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our customers have an exceptional experience from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the highest possible standards of health & safety within the centre
  • Provide exceptional customer care and ensure a welcoming environment for our customers
  • Assist the Senior Recreation Assistant and Duty Manager to maintain the centre's facilities to the highest levels of cleanliness and comfort
  • Patrol the centre to ensure effective control and security, and assist with the storage of equipment
  • Complete a variety of tasks throughout their shift in all areas and departments of the centre
  • Use their own initiative to complete daily tasks and duties, and be accountable for their own actions
  • Work collaboratively as part of our team to achieve the objectives and targets of the centre
  • Respond to emergency situations in accordance with their training
  • Identify and report any health & safety issues, and implement and assess procedures to ensure a safe working environment
  • Contribute to the development of innovative ideas and suggestions to improve our company
  • Ensure all parts of the Centre are safe and secure when not in use
  • Be willing to cover duties of other members of staff as required, and undertake any other duties to assist in the running of the Leisure Centre
Requirements:
  • Love being part of a team and have a positive outlook towards their role
  • Be enthusiastic and have a can-do attitude
  • Want to learn and gain skills, and be willing to undertake training and development opportunities
  • Be honest, ethical, loyal, and accountable, and have a strong sense of professionalism
  • Be punctual and well-presented, and have a flexible approach to working hours and shifts
  • Be willing to work from various local locations within the company, and be willing to work extra hours as required
Qualifications:
  • Have a good general education and a desire to achieve a leisure management qualification
  • Hold a current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification, and be willing to undertake ongoing training and development
DBS:

Recreation Assistant positions are classed as a regulated post and therefore will require a DBS Disclosure. Where the individual does not already hold a DBS Disclosure, it will be necessary for the post holder to be submitted for a DBS check.

Conditions of Employment:
  • Annual Leave: 28 days' paid annual leave per year
  • Pension: NEST Auto Enrolment after 3 months service
  • Notice Period: 1 Month
