Job Title: Graduate Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Empowering Learning Ltd. as a specialist in SEND schools.

About the Role:

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with children who have a variety of additional needs, providing one-to-one support and mentoring in the classroom and in specialist sessions. You will be responsible for creating a safe and inclusive learning environment, promoting social and emotional development, and supporting the children's academic progress.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one support and mentoring to children with additional needs
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans
  • Assist with classroom activities and lessons, adapting materials and strategies to meet the needs of children with SEND
  • Support children with behavioral and mental health needs, using evidence-based strategies and techniques
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture, promoting social and emotional learning and well-being
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of psychological theories, research methodologies, and ethical practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with children, colleagues, and stakeholders
  • Empathy, compassion, and a genuine interest in working with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Proficiency in using relevant software or tools for data analysis or research purposes
  • Enhanced DBS clearance, or willingness to undergo the process
