Job Title: Personal Injury Handler

Location: Swansea

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days in the office, 2 days from home)

At ERS, we're seeking a skilled Personal Injury Handler to join our Claims Operations team. As a key member of our team, you'll play a crucial role in negotiating the settlement of claims in an efficient, fair, and economical manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with pre and post-litigation procedures to conclude cases effectively and economically.
  • Investigation: Clearly establish the circumstances of any loss and make appropriate liability enquiries.
  • Clarification: Identify and refer questionable underwriting to ensure accurate claims processing.
  • Validation: Validate claims and check all details against our records to ensure accuracy.
  • Validate accounts/fee notes and authorise payments.
  • Maintenance: Maintain accurate estimates throughout the claim's life and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Product Knowledge: Develop expertise in our products and services to provide excellent customer service.
  • Customer Liaison: Act as a key liaison, providing regular updates to customers throughout the process.

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Law degree or equivalent
  • Experience working in a legal environment
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Clear, responsive interpersonal skills (written and verbal)
  • Keen eye for detail and ability to check work
  • Deep understanding of good customer service
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong prioritisation abilities
  • Desire to continually improve ways of working
